Bovbjerg Fyr is a Danish lighthouse on the west coast of Jutland .
The lighthouse was built in 1877. Although it is only 26 m high, the height of the fire is 62 m above sea level because the lighthouse is on Bovbjerg's highest point near a cliff . The distinctive red color was intended to distinguish the tower from the nearby church towers in Ferring and Trans, which had already been used to orient seafarers.
Directly to the west of the tower is a memorial stone commemorating the visits of King Frederick VI. in the years 1826 and 1830. The two buildings of the former lighthouse keeper's apartment are now used as a café and exhibition rooms. A permanent exhibition at the foot of the lighthouse provides information about the Danish coastal protection that began in the Bovbjerg area.
