The Bowen River is a river in the east of the Australian state of Queensland .

River course

The river arises below Tent Hill in the southern part of the Clark Range , around 90 kilometers south of Bowen at the confluence of the Little Bowen River and Broken River . From there it flows northwest parallel to the coast and flows into the Burdekin River on the eastern edge of the Leichhardt Range .
