Bowtyschka (Ukrainian Бовтишка ; Russian Бовтышка , formerly Болтышка / Boltyschka) is a village in the central Ukrainian Oblast of Kirovohrad with about 800 inhabitants.
The place is located about 12 kilometers southwest of the Rajons capital Oleksandriwka and 41 kilometers north of the Oblast capital Kropywnyzkyj on the river Bowtysch (Бовтиш) and forms its own district municipality within the Rajons Oleksandriwka .
The village, first mentioned in 1764, became the main town of the Volost Bowtyschka of the same name in the 19th century (until 1923), and the place is known primarily because of the Bowtyschka crater , which he named.
