Brögberner ponds

A large part of the Brögbern area consists of quiet farm roads between arable fields and the Brögberner ponds .

This renatured landscape with the newly created ponds was the official external location of the Expo 2000 in Hanover and was part of the global project “Fascination Soil”. This created a new habitat for plants and animals from around 100 hectares of agriculturally used soil. When there is high precipitation, these landscapes also serve as floodplain areas for water protection.

Events

Brögbern is divided into the districts of Tannenkamp, West, East, South and Im Holz. Every year in the summer there is a local cup tournament at the Brögberner sports grounds, in which the districts compete against each other in various disciplines. The disciplines are soccer (active), soccer (not active), dodgeball for women (from 16 years), air rifle shooting (from 18 years) and fire ball (children from 10-15 years).
