Bradley Kirk Arnold (born September 27, 1978 in Escatawpa ) is an American singer and songwriter . He is the front man of the rock band 3 Doors Down .

Life

Brad was the son of Ralph and Sue Arnold and grew up in Escatawpa , Mississippi , a town of about 4,000 people, the youngest of seven siblings. His siblings' taste in music shaped his own. He enthusiastically watched MTV and admired one-armed drummer Rick Allen of Def Leppard . He asked for a drum kit and after receiving it he practiced in a specially prepared room.

With his band 3 Doors Down , Arnold has enjoyed great success since their debut album in 2000. Especially in the United States, the band regularly lands in the album charts and has already had nine chart singles. With over 16 million records sold and numerous awards, Arnold is one of the most successful rock bands of the millennium to date.

Arnold played a small role in the video clip for Tracy Lawrence's It's All How You Look at It . He sang a duet with Saliva called Razor's Edge on their album Survival of the Sickest . He has also been allowed to sing the American national anthem at sporting events. He also did the backing vocals on Empty Crush's song Why don't I.

On 3 Doors Down's first official album, The Better Life , he played the drums in addition to the vocals. With his bandmates from 3 Doors Down, Arnold called “The Better Life Foundation”, named after this first album, whose field of activity extends from providing basic care for children in need to helping them develop their personality.

In February 2006 Arnold was seriously injured in a car accident. His wife drove on a wet road, got off the road and fell into the ditch. Arnold slept in the passenger seat and hit his head through the window without warning. In addition to cuts on the face, one ear was completely torn off, but could be sewn on again with 40 stitches. Friend and bandmate Todd Harrell says: "If he hadn't been buckled up, he would probably be dead now." A few days after the accident, Arnold was back on stage with his band. The band only canceled one concert. Two weeks before the accident, Arnold wrote a song called It's Not My Time (I Won't Go) . Ironically, the lyrics of the song go very well with the accident that followed shortly thereafter. The song is the first release from the new album 3 Doors Down .

In 2006 Arnold recorded a song with country legend Tracy Lawrence. For the Love appeared the following year on Lawrence's album of the same name. The opinions range from "harmoniously balanced [m] duet" to "edgy song with an infectious beat".

In early 2007 he divorced his wife Terika Roberts, with whom he had been in high school and had been married since 2001. On September 12, 2009, he married his girlfriend Jennifer Sanderford. They live in seclusion on a ranch in Nashville , Tennessee .
