Braindeadz is a German thrash metal band from Limburg an der Lahn that was founded in 2000. The band's name is originally inspired by the song Brain Dead by the American thrash metal band Exodus and not, as is often assumed, by Peter Jackson's classic splatter film Braindead .

history

The band was formed in 2000 by singer Jason Sanati and guitarist Ardian Shillova. After a few appearances, bassist Thorsten Weiss and drummer Timm joined the band. In 2003 the band recorded their first demo called Open Up Wide We're Coming Inside . The second demo followed in 2004 and was named Dr. Pain's Medicine . Shortly afterwards, drummer Timm left the band, who was replaced by Christian "Hausi" Hauske. In 2005 the band won the Wacken Metal Battle for the state of Hesse. After this performance at Wacken Open Air , the band got a contract with STF Records . The band recorded their debut album. Appearances with bands such as Desaster and Contradiction also followed . Towards the end of 2007 guitarist Shillova left the band and was replaced by Thomas "Tommi" Bernert. In 2008 Hendrik Schmidt joined the band as the second guitarist.

In 2011, the second album, Born from Damnation, was released through STF Records.

style

The band is based on classic Thrash Metal of the 1980s.
