Brandon Tate Nimmo (* 27. March 1993 in Cheyenne , Wyoming ) is an American baseball player in Major League Baseball , who as outfielder plays. Nimmo was the first choice of the New York Mets in Major League Baseball Draft in 2011 , where he was drafted at a total of 13 point. He made his MLB debut on June 26, 2016 in a 5-2 away loss to the Atlanta Braves .

Career

Brandon Nimmo was selected by the New York Mets in the first round of the 2011 MLB Draft and played on various minor league teams in the franchise from 2011 to June 2016 .

On June 25, 2016 Nimmo was appointed to the Major League squad for the first time, where he was supposed to replace Michael Conforto, who was stuck in a performance gap for mental reasons . On July 17, 2016, Conforto was recalled to the MLB roster, while Nimmo was reassigned to the Mets AAA team, the Las Vegas 51s . During his first 16 appearances in MLB, Nimmo took a batting average of 23.5%, hit a home run and scored four RBIs . After being nominated again for the MLB team, Nimmo made a total of 32 appearances during the 2016 season .

After making 69 appearances in 2017, Nimmo became a regular in 2018 and played 140 outfield games, 62 of which were in right field, 44 in center field and 32 in left field. He got 17 home runs with a batting average of .263 and led the league with 22 hit by pitch . In 2019 , Nimmo missed all games in June and August due to a herniated disc and only made 69 appearances by the end of the season.
