Branduardi (also Branduardi '81 ) is a music album by the Italian songwriter Angelo Branduardi . It is attributed to the Italian progressive rock .
history
The album, like the debut album Angelo Branduardi, was created seven years earlier with the participation of the British arranger and composer Paul Buckmaster , who became known for his work with Elton John and Godfrey Salmon. Buckmaster also produced the recordings in the studio of the Italian record company Fonit Cetra in Milan . Branduardi and Buckmaster use synthesizers to enrich the sounds, which mainly come from natural instruments, on the album. Branduardi plays an ARP Odyssey synthesizer from ARP Instruments , Buckmaster a Fender Rhodes electric piano and Franco Di Sabatino keyboards.
Branduardi's wife Luisa Zappa is responsible for the texts . Etienne Roda-Gil translated the songs for a French version of the album . Most of the compositions are by Angelo Branduardi himself; Franco di Sabatino was also involved in the arrangements for the track I tre mercanti .
Publications
The album was recorded in two language versions: with Italian and French lyrics. Polydor took over the distribution in Italy, in Germany the album was distributed by Ariola. The French version uses a cover with a different color. There is also a press of the VEB Deutsche Schallplatten Berlin, which appeared on the AMIGA label . It contains short translations of the songs into German and a heavily abbreviated autobiography in German. A re-release of the Italian version in CD format was distributed by Polydor.

The cover of the French version is graphically the same, but uses blue instead of red squares.
reception
A review by progarchives.com 30 years after its release rated the album as not essential: “Listening to this album now, so outside of the context of its release, it's not so bad.” ('When you hear the album today , it's totally out the context of its publication, it's not that bad. ')
