Branko Pejaković

Branko Pejaković (* 1927 ) is a Serbian jazz bassist and translator.

Pejaković worked in the 1950s as the director of Orkestar Radio Beograda II and as a bass player in the West German jazz scene. In 1955 he appeared as a member of the Jutta Hipp Quintet at the German Jazz Festival and in Sweden with Lars Gullin ; In the following years he played with Helmut Weglinski , from the 1960s with Max Greger ( European Jazz Sounds , 1963), in whose big band he appeared at the Berlin Jazz Days 1964, the Diamond Ramblers (with Benny Bailey and Armin Rusch, among others ) and Fred Spannuth . In the 1960s he also jumped in as a substitute in the Duke Ellington Orchestra . In 1974 he performed with the Yugoslav Export Jazz Stars at the 15th International Jazz Festival Ljubljana. In his later years he played with Jenny Evans ( Shiny Stockings , 1997) and Dusko Goykovich ( A Handful of Soul ). In the field of jazz he was involved in 15 recording sessions between 1955 and 2004, also with Ingrid Caven and Siegfried Schwab . He was a lecturer at the Bavarian Youth Jazz Orchestra, which also used many of his and Goykovich's arrangements.

Since the mid-1970s he has also translated numerous books by Milovan Đilas into German.
