Brantley Gilbert
Brantley Keith Gilbert (born January 20, 1985 in Jefferson , Georgia ) is an American country pop singer.
biography
Brantley Gilbert grew up listening to southern country and rock music. At the age of 19, he was in a serious car accident when he drove off the road in a drunk truck. The event and its processing formed the beginning of his music career. First he appeared as a solo musician with songs he had written himself and then founded his own band.
Eventually he went to Nashville, where he signed a songwriting contract with Warner Chappell Publishing . He wrote for Jason Aldean and Colt Ford , among others . He released his first album, A Modern Day Prodigal Son , on Colt Ford's independent label Average Joe’s in 2009 , but had only modest success. When his second album Halfway to Heaven threatened to flop, he went to Valory Music . With the improved support, the song Country Must Be Country Wide made it to number one on the country charts. With You Don't Know Her Like I Do he was able to take the top position for a second time and both songs also made it into the top 50 of the official single charts . The album rose to number two on the country charts and stayed on the charts for over three years. It came in fourth on the official sales charts and was awarded platinum for over one million copies sold . The two singles were also million sellers. He was named New Male Vocalist of the Year at the ACM Awards .
Brantley Gilbert's third album, Just as I Am , was released in 2014 and immediately hit number one on the country charts. It was produced by Dann Huff . With Bottoms Up it produced another country number one and million seller, which made it to number 20 on the official charts.
