Justin Moore
Justin Moore (born March 30, 1984 in Poyen , Arkansas ) is an American country singer.
Live and act
Justin Moore was born in the 300-person village of Poyen, Arkansas. His parents worked at the local post office and bank, but his grandparents and other relatives ran a farm on which he grew up. As a child he sang in the church choir and was passionate about country music, and when he was eight he won a talent competition at the local high school. Although he was also a successful athlete and won the state championship in basketball with the school team, he decided to pursue a career in music.
After graduating from high school, he decided against attending college and moved to Nashville in 2002. After a first prospective contract did not materialize, he teamed up with Jeremy Stover as a songwriting duo. Together they were signed in 2004 by Keith Stegall, who produces Alan Jackson among others . Stover later became Moore's producer as well.
As a country singer Moore appeared from 2001 at concerts in Arkansas in front of hundreds of spectators. By 2006 the number of viewers was already 4000 and the following year he got a record deal. He toured with his own backing band in 2008 with artists such as Trace Adkins , Kenny Chesney , Brooks & Dunn and Hank Williams Jr. and played the supporting act. His debut single Back That Thing Up was also released in August of that year and became a first country hit.
Justin Moore had his breakthrough the following year with the follow-up single Small Town USA , which alludes to his own rural origins. It reached the top 10 on the country charts and number 52 on the official charts . In June an EP was released in advance, which was successful in the country charts, before his self-named debut album was released in August. It went straight to number 10 on the album charts and number 3 on the country charts. As a result, his first hit rose again and after more than half a year reached number 1 for country songs at the end of September.
