The Breitecke (also Breiteck ) is a nature reserve of around eight hectares in the Hessian municipality of Schlitz in the Vogelsberg district . It was designated in 1958 and comprises an approximately 300 meter long section of the central reaches of the Fulda with surrounding alluvial forest and grassland areas between the Schlitz districts of Pfordt and Fraurombach .
The nature reserve is located in the much larger FFH area DE-5323-303 Obere and Mittlere Fuldaaue . This means that the area belongs to the European Natura 2000 network of protected areas .
