The Bremer RathsChor is a mixed choir in Bremen . About 100 singers belong to the Bremen RathsChor. Jan Hübner has been the director since 2013.

history

The Bremer RathsChor was founded in 2008 by members of the Bremen Cathedral Choir , when its long-time director, the church musician and cathedral cantor at St. Petri Cathedral , Wolfgang Helbich , retired from church service after reaching the age limit. Helbich died in 2013.

The former mayor of Bremen, Henning Scherf , was chairman of the Bremer RathsChor association until 2017 ; Juliane Jansen has been the chairman since 2017.

Present / artistic profile

The Bremen RathsChor has an extensive church music repertoire, which includes the great oratorios by Bach , Handel , Haydn , Mozart , Mendelssohn and Verdi . The website of the choir contains an up-to-date list of concerts. Since 2016, the RathsChor in Bremen has had a musical partnership with musicians from Odessa , during which several concerts were performed in the Odessa Philharmonic.
