Brenner Archive Research Institute

The Brenner Archive Research Institute is a documentation and research center for literature at the University of Innsbruck , which emerged in 1964 from the archive of the cultural journal Der Brenner .

The Brenner Archive was initially a department of the University's Institute for German Studies. In 1979 it was established as the university's own research institute through a contract between the State of Austria , the State of Tyrol and the University of Innsbruck. The Brenner archive comprises around 30,000 books and around 270 estates , partial estates and collections from culturally active persons and cultural organizations (publishers, literary prizes, etc.). The collections contain several thousand photos.

Important publications, complete editions and editions of the works of Georg Trakl , Ludwig Wittgenstein , Norbert C. Kasers , Christine Lavants , Grete Gulbranssons , Fritz von Herzmanovsky-Orlandos , Ferdinand Ebners , Christine Bustas and other personalities of cultural life have been produced at the Brenner Archive Research Institute .
