Ulrike Tanzer

Ulrike Tanzer (* 1967 in Steyr , Upper Austria ) is an Austrian literary scholar .

Life

She studied German philology and teaching English / American studies at the universities of Vienna and Salzburg . In 1996 she received her doctorate with a thesis on images of women in Marie von Ebner-Eschenbach's work , and in April 2008 she completed her habilitation as a university lecturer. In October 2008, Tanzer took up the position as an associate professor for modern German literature at the Department of German Studies at the University of Salzburg.

Since October 1, 2014, she has been a professor for Austrian literature at the University of Innsbruck and head of the Brenner Archive research institute; On October 1, 2017, Tanzer took over the position of Vice Rector for Research at the University of Innsbruck.

Her research focuses on 19th and 20th century literature, contemporary literature, concepts of happiness in literature, edition philology , literary didactics and reading research .
