Brent McCall
Brent McCall (born January 25, 1940 in San Francisco , California - † February 3, 2019 in Donaueschingen ) was an American composer .
He studied from 1957 to 1959 at Long Beach City College in California with Gerald Strang . This was followed by composition studies at the Juilliard School of Music in New York , which he graduated in 1964.
A DAAD - scholarship led Brent McCall to Freiburg . Among other things, he taught at the commercial high school in Donaueschingen , at the Trossingen Conservatory and at the youth music school in Donaueschingen and Neustadt in the Black Forest .
In 1978 Brent McCall was one of the founders of the “Group of New Chamber Music Donaueschingen”, whose stated aim is to introduce the largest possible audience to new musical trends. In addition to chamber music for a wide variety of ensembles, Brent McCall has also written orchestral film music and stage works. His compositions and arrangements for the accordion are popular .
Brent McCall died on February 3, 2019.
