Brenton Jones (born December 12, 1991 in Jindivick ) is an Australian cyclist .
Career
Jones came to international use for the first time in 2009 when he reached 16th place at the Oceania Championships. Three years later he was 16th again in the road race and tenth in the time trial. In the summer of 2013 he made his debut as a neoprofessional in the Huon Salmon-Genesys Wealth Advisers team . In his first big race, the Jelajah Malaysia , he finished 63rd overall, with a good fourth place on the third stage in the time trial. The following year he moved to the Avanti Racing Team , for which he was able to win two stages at the Tour de Singkarak . In the overall standings of the tour, however, he did not get past 50th place. From 2015 he rode for the Drapac Professional Cycling team and demonstrated his sprinter skills at the Tour of Japan . So he won the prologue and finished fifth in the sprinter classification. At the Tour of Hainan he also reached the top 10 in the sprinter classification and secured victory on the last stage. The following year he finally won the blue jersey for the first time at the Tour de Korea 2016 . He also secured two more stage successes and rode one stage in the yellow jersey. For the 2017 season he switched to the JLT Condor team .
