Cristina-Adela Foişor (* June 7, 1967 as Cristina-Adela Bădulescu in Petroşani ; † January 21, 2017 in Timişoara ) was a Romanian chess player .
Life
Cristina-Adela Foişor was married to Ovidiu-Doru Foişor , who also has the title of International Master . She was the mother of two daughters who are also chess players; Sabina-Francesca Foișor has been the Women's Grand Master since 2007 , Mihaela-Veronica Foișor has been the International Women's Master since 2012. Cristina-Adela Foișor completed a mathematics degree at the Western University of Timisoara and worked as a teacher.
successes
Foișor won the Romanian Women's Championship in 1989 (together with Gabriela Olǎrașu ), 1998 (together with Ligia Jicman ), 2011, 2012 and 2013. She took in 2001 , 2006 , 2010 and 2012 at the Women's World Chess Championship in part, reaching as the biggest success of 2001, the quarter-finals. Foișor was also qualified for the 2017 World Women's Chess Championship.
National team
With the Romanian women's team, Foișor took part in 14 of the 15 Chess Olympiads from 1988 to 2016 (only missing in 2008). She also played on the top board of the Romanian national team at the 2013 women 's team chess championship and took part in eight women's team European championships (1992, 1997, 2001, 2003, 2005, 2011 , 2013 and 2015). She was most successful at the European Team Championships in 1997 in Pula , when she reached second place with the team, while in the individual ranking she achieved both the second best result on the second board and the third best rating of all participants.

In Romania, Foișor played for the teams of AEM-Luxten Timișoara , with whom she took part in the women's European Club Cup four times and won the competition in 1998 and came second in 1999 and 2011, and AS RAT Bucharest , with whom she won the European in 2001 Participated in the women's club cup. She also took part in the European Women's Club Cup twice with the Serbian club ŠK Radnički Rudovci . In the German women's Bundesliga , Foișor played for SC Meerbauer Kiel from 2002 to 2004, for SK Doppelbauer Kiel from 2006 to 2008 and for SF Deizisau from 2012 to 2016 , where she was also registered in the 2016/17 season, but not more was used. In the Belgian interclubs she played between 2003 and 2010 for Cercle Royal des Echecs de Liège et Echiquier Liègeois , with whom she became Belgian team champion in 2007 and took part in the European Club Cup.

After a brief serious illness and a few days in a coma, Cristina-Adela Foișor died in the Timișoara trauma clinic .
