Mihaela-Veronica Foişor (born March 26, 1994 in Timişoara ) is a Romanian chess player .

Life

Mihaela-Veronica Foișor comes from a chess family. Her father is the International Master (IM) Ovidiu-Doru Foișor , her mother Cristina-Adela Foișor (née Bădulescu) also held the IM title, and her sister, who is four years older, is the Women's Grandmaster (WGM) Sabina-Francesca Foișor .

successes

She was very successful in chess games with a short time to think about it: In rapid chess she won the European championships in the age groups U10 (2003 in Budva ), U14 (2007 in Subotica and 2008 in Herceg Novi ) and U16 (2009 in Subotica) and in blitz chess in the European championships Age group U14 (2007 in Subotica and 2008 in Herceg Novi). Her results at Romanian individual championships for women: 8th place in 2009 in Eforie Nord , 10th place in 2010 in Băile Olăneşti , 7th place in 2011 in Sărata-Monteoru and 5th place in 2012 (also in Sărata-Monteoru).

She played club chess in Romania for AEM Luxten Timișoara . In Germany she played from 2002 to 2004 for SC Meerbauer Kiel , from 2004 to 2008 for SK Doppelbauer Kiel and since 2012 for SF Deizisau . In the 2007/08 season she had her first appearance in the women's chess national league . In Belgium she played for Cercle Royal des Echecs de Liège et Echiquier Liègeois from 2008 to 2010 . She has also played in the Serbian team championship. In the British Four Nations Chess League Foișor has been playing with the Grantham Sharks since the 2013/14 season .

Since April 2012 she has held the title of International Women's Champion (WIM). The norms for this she achieved in the B group of the 4th Timișoara Cup in August 2009, at the 27th Open of Cappelle-la-Grande with clear over-fulfillment in March 2011 (there she defeated, among other things, the grandmaster Krikor Mekhitarian ) and also with clear over-fulfillment, at the Romanian women's individual championship in February 2012.
