Krikor Sevag Mekhitarian (born November 15, 1986 in São Paulo ) is a Brazilian chess player .

Mekhitarian is descended from Armenian parents. His mother was born in Brazil and his father in Lebanon . Mekhitarian attended an Armenian school in his native São Paulo. He learned chess from his father at the age of 7. He won the Brazilian championship twice: in 2012 and 2015. He played for Brazil in four Chess Olympiads : 2010 to 2014 and 2018 .

At the Chess World Cup 2019 in Khanty-Mansiysk , he failed in the first round to Dmitri Andreikin .

In 2006 he was awarded the title of International Master (IM). The title of Grand Master (GM) was awarded to him in 2010.
