Brian Patneaude

Brian Patneaude (* 8. August 1974 in Schenectady ) is an American musician of the modern jazz ( tenor , soprano , alto and baritone saxophone , composition ).

Live and act

Brian Patneaude played drums in a rock band in high school ; he came to jazz through the music of David Sanborn and Michael Brecker . He received his first degree in music education from the College of St. Rose in 1996. He then played with Alex Torres y Los Reyes Latinos, The Refrigerators , Terry Gordon, George Muscatello; He also received his Masters degree from the College Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati . During his time in college he toured Russia and was featured on Down Beat . In 2003 he and his quartet presented the debut album Variations , which was followed by four more albums by 2012. His band includes bassist Mike DelPrete, drummer Danny Whelchel and pianist David Caldwell-Mason. He also plays with the Empire Jazz Orchestra , the Big Soul Ensemble and the hard bop band Bopitude directed by Michael Benedict. He has performed at the Montreal Jazz Festival and other international festivals.
