The Briggs Glacier is a glacier in central South Georgia . It flows between Mount Worsley and The Trident ridge in a north-westerly direction to the Murray snowfield .

Lieutenant Commander John M. Chaplin (1888–1977) of the Royal Navy erroneously mapped it in 1929 as a glacier that flows into Possession Bay . Chaplin named it after Able Seaman Alfred Charles Briggs (1905-1988), crew member of RRS Discovery from 1925 to 1927 as part of the Discovery Investigations and member of Chaplin's survey team from 1928 to 1930. The complex network of glaciers and snowfields south of Possession Bay covered the South Georgia Survey carried out detailed surveys of the area between 1955 and 1956.
