Brigitte Beraha

Brigitte Beraha (* 1977 in Milan , Italy ) is a British jazz singer and songwriter .

Life

Beraha's parents are from Great Britain and Turkey; she grew up in Monaco and moved to London in 1996 to study music at Goldsmiths College before moving to the Guildhall School of Music . There she met Ivo Neame and Phil Donkin , with whom and with trumpeter Joe Auckland she recorded her album Flying Dreams (2009), which is based on the Azimuth formation . In the field of jazz she was involved in six recording sessions between 2004 and 2013, including a. with Rick Simpson, Andy Hague and Reuben Fowler ( Between Shadows , 2013); she also performed with Gareth Williams .

Beraha teaches jazz singing at the Guildhall School of Music and the Welsh College of Music & Drama.
