Brigitte Hütter

Brigitte Hütter (* 1972 in Ried im Innkreis ) is an Austrian lawyer . She has been Vice Rector of the University of Linz since January 2017 . On February 11, 2019, she was elected Rector of the Art University Linz from October 2019.

Life

After graduating from high school in 1990, Brigitte Hütter began studying law at the University of Linz , which she completed in 1996 as a Magistra. From 2006 to 2008 she completed a master’s degree in science and university management at the University for Continuing Education in Krems .

After practicing in 1996/97 at the District Court of Urfahr and at the Regional Court of Linz , she worked at an opinion research institute in Linz in 1998/99. From 1999 to 2003 she was deputy head of the department for research funding at the University of Salzburg , after which she was in charge of the human resources and law department at the FH Oberösterreich Holding GmbH in Wels.

From 2004 she worked again at the University of Salzburg, initially in the office of the rectorate for legal affairs, from 2008 as head of the staff department of the rectorate. From October 2010 she was Vice Rector for Resources at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg , where she was also entrusted with the interim management of the Rector's agendas from April to December 2016. Since January 2017 she has been Vice Rector for Human Resources, Diversity and IT at the University of Linz.

On 11 February 2019, it was the University Council for the Rector of the University of Art Linz selected. She succeeded Reinhard Kannonier in this role on October 1, 2019 . In 2020 she became a member of the advisory board of Kultur GmbH , in which the institutions of the State Museum were merged with the Kulturquartier ( OK , Ursulinenhof ).
