Brown's Hotel is a luxury hotel in Mayfair , London that opened in 1837 and has been owned by Rocco Forte Hotels since 2003 . It belongs to the hotel group The Leading Hotels of the World .

Brown's Hotel is one of the best addresses in London. Together with Claridge's nearby, it is one of the oldest still operating luxury hotels in London.

It has 115 rooms and 33 suites designed by Olga Polizzi (* 1947), the daughter of Charles Forte .

In April 2018, Heinz Beck opened the Beck at Brown’s restaurant in Brown’s Hotel in London. It offers a menu of classic Italian dishes using British, seasonal ingredients.

history

Brown's Hotel was founded in 1837 by James and Sarah Brown. Famous guests were Oscar Wilde , Arthur Conan Doyle , Robert Louis Stevenson , JM Barrie , Bram Stoker , Alexander Graham Bell , Theodore Roosevelt , Napoleon III , Haile Selassie , Cecil Rhodes , Rudyard Kipling , Agatha Christie and Stephen King .

The hotel was purchased by Rocco Forte Hotels on July 3, 2003 and renovated from 2004 to 2005 for £ 24 million. It was reopened in December 2005.
