Bruce Cowling

Bruce Cowling (born October 30, 1919 in Coweta , Oklahoma , † August 22, 1986 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American actor .

life and career

Bruce Cowling made his film debut in 1946 in the biopic Till the Clouds Roll By . By 1955, the tall, dark-haired actor then appeared in over 20 films, often westerns and adventure flicks. He has played alongside Myrna Loy and William Powell in the crime comedy The Song of the Thin Man (1947), in William A. Wellman's war film Kesselschlacht (1949) and the historical role of Virgil Earp in the Western assault in Texas next George Montgomery and Tab Hunter . He embodied one of his most extensive cinema roles in the 1951 Lassie film Lassie and the Gold Diggers . From the mid-1950s, Cowling played exclusively in television series such as In the Wild West (Death Valley Days) , Lassie and Der Texaner . In 1961 he retired from the Hollywood business after a guest role on the sitcom Hot Off the Wire .
