The Brucher Sandbahn was a sand track of the Brucher Coal Works Union in the North Bohemian Basin in what is now the Czech Republic . It connected the sand pits near Prohn ( Braňany ) with the brown coal underground mines near Bruch ( Lom u Mostu ). The company was run by the Aussig-Teplitz Railway and, after its nationalization in 1924, by the Czechoslovak State Railways ČSD.

history

The track was built in 1912 mainly for the supply of the low Bausch Eighth Johann I (from 1931: Kohinoor ) Brucher coal plants with backfill material to prevent subsidence over charred pit areas. This particularly affected the municipal areas of Oberleutensdorf and Bruch, which were located in the mine field of the Bruch coal works. In addition, the line was also used to transport the extracted lignite via the ATE line. At Maria Radschitz ( Mariánské Radčice ) there was therefore a track connection to the main line from Aussig to Komotau .

After the Second World War, the sand track was abandoned after coal mining was relocated to undeveloped areas. The Kohinoorschächte later received a new track connection to Louka u Litvínova station .

Vehicle use

GBK 001

For the first time in the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, five-coupled tank locomotives were used on the Brucher Sandbahn, which were manufactured by the First Bohemian-Moravian Machine Factory in Prague . They received the company numbers 001–003 from the Brucher coal works . At the ČSD the locomotives were classified as 514.101-103.
