Brother state

As sister states in are Germany groups allied or friendly countries referred to as "the Arab " the two brother countries, " Korean sister states", "the Slavic brother states" or "the Yugoslav brother states".

While in East Germany , the Soviet Union with Big Brother has been dubbed, the name was fraternal socialist countries as a collective term for all friendly socialist countries, primarily for member states of the CMEA and the Warsaw Pact , use.

Groups of allied or friendly states are also referred to using the terms brother peoples and brother countries . Serbs and Croats were sometimes referred to as "brother peoples before Christianization ". Czechs and Slovaks as well as Ukrainians , Russians and Belarusians are still considered to be brother peoples today.

The word brethren was used in early German translations of the Bible .
