The Abens cycle path is a 65 km long long- distance cycle path along the Abens in Bavaria . It is part of the international long-distance cycle route Munich-Regensburg-Prague and serves as the main connection between the Danube Cycle Route and the Isar Cycle Route .

Route

The Abens cycle path branches off from the international Danube cycle path in Bad Gögging and runs via Abensberg , Siegenburg , Mainburg and Nandlstadt to the Isar cycle path to Marzling near Freising. The cycle path runs between Abensberg and Nandlstadt through the picturesque hilly landscape of the Hallertau hop-growing region . In Langenbach , the Ammer-Amper cycle path , which leads to Oberammergau and Moosburg , runs for a few kilometers along with the Abens cycle path on a shared route.

State of development

In general, the cycle path is well signposted and runs on back roads with little traffic. Between Abensberg and Nandlstadt it runs through the Hallertau hop-growing region .

The cycle path is registered in the Bavarian network for cyclists.
