The Bruneck Tower ( Italian: Mur del Pisciadù Occidentale ) is a rock tower ( 2495 m ) on the Sella massif , Italy . It is located north of the Cima Pisciadù and is named after the city of Bruneck .
The tower is separated from the Sellastock by a flat saddle. Via this, the tower can be easily reached from the Pisciadùhütte via Schrofen, descending in a north-northeastern direction . In addition to the normal ascent, which is not very interesting as an independent destination, two climbing routes lead through the north side: the classic Zieglauer direct ( V + ) and the Via Ottovolante (VIII +) from 1997, climbed by F. Piardi, F. Tremolada and C. Zampieri.
In the east, a deeply cut gorge separates it from the Exnerturm , on the north side of which the Pisciadù via ferrata rises. The via ferrata ends with a suspension bridge over the gorge to the plateau, which is reached just south of the Bruneck Tower.
