The Pisciadù hut ( Italian Rifugio Franco Cavazza al Pisciadù ) is an Alpine Club hut of the Bologna section of the Club Alpino Italiano (CAI).
location
The Pisciadùhütte is located in a moon-like landscape at 2585 m slm in the northern Sella region south of the Passo Gardena in Italy . Lake Pisciadù is just below the hut.
History
The hut was built in 1902 by the Bamberg DuÖAV section and opened on August 20th. A year later, on August 3, 1903, the small, unmanaged hut with only eight beds was inaugurated. After the First World War , the Italian state expropriated the hut and handed it over to the Trentiner Alpenverein (SAT), which, however, hardly looked after it. From 1934 to 1936 a private person looked after the refuge, in 1940 it was taken over by the Bologna Section and enlarged. After the Second World War , the CAI expanded the hut and began to operate it. In 1960 the hut was expanded again.
Ascent
- From the parking lot at the Grödner Joch ( 2121 m ) through the steep Schuttkar "Val Setus" secured with wire ropes, follow the marker no. 666 (red-white-red). The last few meters in altitude require some climbing skill. Around 1½ hours.
- Alternatively, you can use the Pisciadù via ferrata (Via Ferrata Brigata Tridentina) (2½ to 3 hours) of medium difficulty (and which is often overcrowded due to the easy access from the Grödner-Joch-Straße ). Via ferrata equipment necessary!
- Over the dolomitic scree in a westerly direction and in the direction of the Gamsscharte you can reach the Lech dl Dragon , a glacier lake that only exists at times , in about 15 minutes .
Transition to other huts
- To the Boèhütte (Rifugio Boè) ( 2871 m ) in about 2 hours.
