The Boèhütte ( Italian Rifugio Boè , originally Bamberger Hütte ) is a refuge of the Trentiner Alpenverein (SAT) in the Sella group in the Dolomites . It is one of the highest huts in the Dolomites.
Location and surroundings
The Boèhütte is located at 2873 m slm (according to other information 2871 m slm ) in the center of the Sella plateau around 700 meters northwest of Piz Boè and not far from Col Turond ( 2927 m ). The saddle on which the hut is located forms a transition between the Mittagstal in the northeast and the Val Lasties in the southwest. To the north of the hut are the Sas de Mesdi ( 2978 m ) and the Forcella d'Antersas ( 2839 m ). A few meters east of the hut is the provincial border between Trentino and South Tyrol , although the hut is still in Trentino.
history
The hut was built in 1894 by the Bamberg section of the German and Austrian Alpine Club as a brick building with a large terrace and was given the name Bamberger Hütte . After the hut was destroyed in the First World War , it was transferred in 1921 together with 13 other DÖAV huts to the Società degli Alpinisti Tridentini (SAT), the largest sub-organization of the CAI. In 1924 it was reopened as Boèhütte and expanded again and again in the years and decades that followed.
The Servizio Opere Igienico Sanitarie (sanitary department) of the autonomous province of Trento equipped the hut with an experimental system for the treatment and biological treatment of wastewater in 1992 .
