The Rifugio Treviso , full name Rifugio Treviso in Val Canali , (German Canalihütte ) is a refuge of the Treviso section of the Club Alpino Italiano (CAI) in the Pala group in Trentino . The hut, which is usually open from the beginning of June to the end of September, has 35 beds and a winter room with 4 beds.

Location and surroundings

The refuge is located in the upper Canalital on the orographic left side of the valley at 1630  m above sea level. The Rifugio Treviso leads past the Dolomites high path No. 2. It is the starting point for ascents in the southern Pala group.

history

The refuge was built in 1896 by the Dresden Section of the German and Austrian Alpine Club and inaugurated in 1897 under the name Canalihütte. After the First World War , the hut became the property of the Trentino Alpine Club (SAT). In 1921 the SAT handed over the Canalihütte, to which numerous expropriated huts of the DÖAV had been assigned by the Italian state after the annexation of Trentino to the Kingdom of Italy and which had difficulties guaranteeing the preservation of the huts, to the Treviso section of the CAI. The latter renamed the hut in Rifugio Treviso in Val Canali. In 2004 it was renovated and expanded.
