The hut is generally open from mid-June to the end of September. It offers 64 beds for climbers.

The name of the hut is probably derived from the Italian prati gialli ("yellow meadows"), which are crossed through the Val Pradidali , especially in late spring, when the alpine poppies are in bloom .

location

The rifugio is located in the upper Val Pradidali, a side valley that branches off at Cant de Gal in the Val Canali in the southern Pala group. Surrounded It is the starting point for numerous climbs such as the Cima Canali and the Sass Maor as well as some via ferrata such as the Ferrata del Porton / Velo and the Ferrata Nico Gusella.

The mountain path no.2 of the Dolomites (from Brixen to Feltre ) leads past the hut , which it also serves as a base.

history

The refuge was established in 1896 as Pravitale hut by the DÖAV - section Dresden built in 1912 and for the first time increased. After the First World War , the hut passed to the CAI Treviso section. The rifugio was renovated several times in 1959 and 2004/05 when it was also extended by an extension.
