In addition, the Rifugio Ciampedie is suitable as a starting point for several circular hikes and via ferratas (e.g. Rotwand , Kesselkogel ).
For winter tourism, the area is opened up by the Vigo di Fassa ski area.
history
The Ciampedie hut was built in 1904 by Silvio Rizzi from Pera in Val di Fassa as a private mountain inn.
The house had 6 rooms with 12 beds and a warehouse with 4 places.
In the spring of 1913, the owner offered the hut to the Leipzig section of the German and Austrian Alpine Club due to illness in his family . Due to the very beautiful and convenient location, reachable from the Vajolet hut in 1 ½ hours, the decision was quickly made to buy the house immediately. The purchase price was 24,600 crowns.
After the First World War, the Ciampedie hut was expropriated by the Italian state and handed over to the Trentiner Società degli Alpinisti Tridentini (SAT), a section of the Club Alpino Italiano (CAI), in 1923 .
