Colfosco

Kolfuschg ( Ladin Calfosch , Italian Colfosco ) is a village in South Tyrol or Ladinia . The village belongs to the municipality of Corvara in the south-western branch of the upper Val Badia . With a height of 1610- 1690  m Colfosco is the highest settlement in the valley. The village is surrounded by mountain peaks of the Dolomites : on the north side these are included in the Puez group , on the south side the Sella group. To the east below is the main town of the municipality, Corvara, to the west the terrain rises to the Passo Gardena ( 2121  m ).

The historic building stock of the village includes the parish church of St. Vigil and the listed farms Sorà and Zecca da Ruatsch . Today Colfosco, part of the Alta Badia holiday region , is heavily influenced by tourism and offers skiing from November to April.
