The Brunhilde Peak is a rocky mountain peaks of the Asgard Range in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It looms between the upper reaches of Donner Valley and the Sykes Glacier .
The New Zealand Antarctic Place-Names Committee named him in 1972 after Brünhild , mythological queen of Iceland and wife of the Burgundian king Gunther from the Nibelungenlied .
