Bruno Gutknecht
Bruno Gutknecht (* 1935 in Gombin ; † August 15, 2007 ) was a German painter , graphic artist and architect .
Life
Bruno Gutknecht grew up in Bad Godesberg and attended the Cusanus High School there. He spent part of his youth at Callenberg Castle . He studied architecture at RWTH Aachen ; he was inspired to do this by the architecture of the pilgrimage church Vierzehnheiligen . He studied painting with Franz Nagel . Gutknecht worked as an architect and urban planner from 1962 to 1996 . During this time he was mainly employed in Munich , Zurich , Bonn and Lower Bavaria .
After finishing his work as an architect, he turned back to painting. His teachers were now Hermann Eller and Garcetto K. Garn . Gutknecht now lived as a freelance artist in Buch am Erlbach in Lower Bavaria . Since 1974 he was with his wife Elisabeth, geb. Eichinger married.
Works and exhibitions
The main themes of his lithographs and drawings are motifs based on Lucas Cranach . In 2006 he exhibited together with Robert Reiter in Forum 4 of the Supreme Building Authority in Munich . The title of the exhibition was Hommage à Oberfranken . Gutknecht's lithographs were also on view in 2005 in the exhibition Casanovalta - Transformation of the Hills around Arezzo in the Munich Architecture Gallery . In 2004 he took part in the Living Litho exhibition .
