Bruno Hippler

Bruno Hippler (born May 1, 1894 in Heilsberg , East Prussia , † March 23, 1942 Ilmensee ) was a German officer , most recently major general (posthumously).

Life

Hippler came after attending the military academy in Königsberg on 22 March 1913 as a lieutenant in the Infantry Regiment "von Boyen" (5 Ostpreußisches) No. 41 a.

When the Second World War broke out , he was in command of Infantry Regiment 1 in Königsberg .

In 1942 he was most recently involved as a colonel and commander of the 329th Infantry Division in the successful opening of the Demyansk pocket .

Hippler fell on March 23, 1942 near Lake Ilmen . He was promoted posthumously to major general.
