Bruno Kleinheyer

Bruno Kleinheyer (born April 22, 1923 in Hüls (Krefeld) , † January 15, 2003 in Regensburg ) was a Catholic theologian and professor of liturgical science at the University of Regensburg .

biography

After studying theology at the universities of Bonn , Tübingen and Munich received Bruno Kleinheyer 1953 in Aachen the priesthood . In 1956 he received his doctorate in theology at the Trier Theological Faculty . From 1960 he was initially a lecturer at the Aachen seminary and then in 1967/68 in Bochum, until he was appointed full professor of liturgical science in 1968 at the Catholic-Theological Faculty of the newly founded University of Regensburg, where he retired in 1980 researched and taught.

As theological advisor, Bruno Kleinheyer accompanied the implementation of the reform provisions of the Second Vatican Council on the renewal of the liturgy of the Roman Catholic Church. He was also an advisor to the liturgy commission of the German Bishops' Conference and a member of the liturgical commission of the diocese of Regensburg .

Bruno Kleinheyer was also co-editor of the liturgical manual “Church Service” and a member of the editorial team of the theological journal “Liturgisches Jahrbuch”.
