Bruno Modugno

Bruno Modugno (born January 28, 1933 in Rome ; † July 22, 2020 there ) was an Italian director and writer .

Life

Modugno worked as a writer and director of numerous successful cultural programs on Italian television. After his employment at RAI in 1964, countless formats are associated with his name, from “Sapere” from 1965 to “Livingstone” in 1996. Thematically, he preferred ethnological and adventurous subjects as well as animal films. Some milestones bear his signature, such as “Avventura”, “Enciclopedia della natura”, “L'alba dell'uomo”, “La parola e l'immagine”, “Pianeta” or “Giorno di festa”. The documentation book Il dio sotto la pelle was also written by him and Folco Quilici and Carlo Alberto Pinelli .

In addition, Modugno appeared as the author of short stories and novels, two of which he filmed himself as a director. For some of them he was awarded prizes; between 1977 and 1999 the quadrology of the Maremma appeared .

Modugno was also known as a lobbyist for hunting. For several years he was head of special interest channels related to this topic.
