Bruno Pasquier

Bruno Pasquier (born December 10, 1943 in Neuilly-sur-Seine ) is a French violist .

Life

Bruno Pasquier comes from a family of musicians, his father was the violist Pierre Pasquier (1902–1986), who played with his brothers Jean (1903–1992, violinist) and Étienne (1905–1997, cellist) in the Trio Pasquier . Bruno's brother Regis (* 1945) became a violinist, his brother Alain (* 1942) a classical archaeologist.

Bruno Pasquier started his career with first prizes at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris in 1961 and at the International ARD Competition in Munich in 1965.

He was solo violist at the Théatre de l'Opera de Paris (1965–1985) and the Orchester National de France (1985–1990). There he played under the direction of important conductors such as Karl Böhm , Georg Solti , Seiji Ozawa and Lorin Maazel .

In 1970 he founded the Nouveau Trio Pasquier together with his brother Régis Pasquier and Roland Pidoux .

Bruno Pasquier plays a Paolo Maggini viola .

He has received several awards, for example for his recording of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Sinfonia concertante accompanied by his brother Régis Pasquier on violin. Bruno Pasquier has been teaching at the Conservatoire national supérieur de Paris since 1983. In addition, he regularly gives master classes.
