Bruno Suckau

Bruno Suckau (born November 10, 1903 in Berlin , † after 1961) was a German sound engineer .

Live and act

Suckau had received training as a telecommunications mechanic and electrical engineer . With the dawn of the sound film age in Germany (1929) he switched to the film industry. Since April 1, 1930 Suckau was employed as a film sound engineer. His employers were initially the Lignose Hörfilm and the UFA . Later he also owned his own company, Suckau-Filmgestaltung.

In addition to an abundance of short films, Suckau also ensured the sound of some classic films, including Karl Hartl's science fiction film Gold , Heinz Rühmann's directorial debut Lauter Lügen , Veit Harlan's blood-and-soil drama The golden city , Helmut Käutner's St. Pauli classic Große Freiheit No. 7 and the monarch biography Ludwig II. After the second and third parts of the 08/15 trilogy , Suckau withdrew from the film business. Until 1961 he can be traced back to his domicile in Düsseldorf-Benrath and Berlin-Lichtenrade .
