Bruno Zschokke

Bruno Zschokke (born October 23, 1860 in Solothurn ; † February 12, 1926 in Zurich ) was a Swiss chemist and metallurgist .

Bruno Zschokke was the son of the architect Alfred Zschokke and grandson of the writer Heinrich Zschokke .

Bruno Zschokke studied chemistry at the ETH Zurich . After working in Basel and completing specialist training at the École de Chimie in Geneva , he worked in management positions in steelworks in Witkowitz (Moravia) , in the von Moos'schen ironworks in Emmenweid near Lucerne and in the branch of the Poldi Hütte in Zurich. After Bruno Zschokke was appointed adjunct at the Eidgenössische Materialprüfungsanstalt in 1896, he completed his habilitation in 1902 as a private lecturer in materials testing at the ETH Zurich. The Federal Council awarded him the title of professor on February 20, 1918 in recognition of his services.

Bruno Zschokke wrote around 45 scientific papers in the fields of metallurgy and metallography, ceramics, paper testing and explosives and blasting technology.
