Bruttius (also Brittius , Brettius u. Ä .; Greek Βρύττιος) was the name of the Gens Bruttia , a Roman family who (especially during the imperial period) v. a. was widespread in southern Italy.

Significant representatives were:

  1. Bruttius Praesens (Senator, from approx. 300 corrector from Lucania / Bruttium)
  2. Quintus Bruttius Sura (successful general against Mithridates VI. In Boeotia 87 BC )
  3. Lucius Bruttius Maximus (proconsul of Cyprus 80 AD)
  4. Lucius Bruttius Praesens Lucius Fulvius Rusticus (son of 3.)
  5. Gaius Bruttius Praesens Polyonymus
  6. Bruttia Crispina (daughter of 5th), wife of Emperor Commodus
  7. Lucius Bruttius Quintius Crispinus (son of 5th, consul 187 )
  8. Gaius Bruttius Praesens (son of 7th, consul 217 , patron of Canisium)
  9. Lucius Bruttius Crispinus (son of 7th, consul 224 )
