Bryan White (2010)

Bryan Shelton White (born February 17, 1974 in Lawton , Oklahoma , USA ) is an American country singer, who played with Someone Else's Star (1995), Rebecca Lynn , So Much for Pretending (both 1996) and Sittin 'on Go (1997) had four number one hits on the US country charts. In total, he has sold over two and a half million albums in the United States alone.

Beginnings

As the son of professional musicians, Bryan came into contact with rock 'n' roll and country at an early age . His parents separated only a few years after he was born, but remained on friendly terms and continued to play in the same band. Bryan started playing drums when he was five. But his real passion was singing. In 1988 his enthusiasm for Steve Wariner gave rise to the desire to become a country singer. The session musician Billy Joe Walker, also from Oklahoma, put him in contact with Nashville . Financially supported by his parents, he started working as a songwriter in "Music City" after finishing school.

Career

In 1994, through the mediation of Billy Joe Walker, a contract with the Asylum label was concluded. In the same year his debut album Bryan White was released . The singles Someone Else's Star and Rebecca Lynn reached number 1 on the country charts in 1995. Two number 1 hits were also released from his second album, Between Now And Forever . In the same year, White received the coveted CMA Horizon Award and other prizes as the most promising young musician .

The newcomer was one of Nashville's country musicians who did not appear in a cowboy hat (so-called "hat acts"). His mainstream country was also well received by fans of popular music. After his first successes, Bryan White used his popularity for social engagement. A benefit concert he initiated for the victims of the Oklahoma bombing raised $ 60,000. He also participated in several programs to help the terminally ill.

In 1997 the duet From This Moment on on the album Come on Over by Shania Twain received a lot of attention.

White also wrote songs for other artists, including the top 5 hits I Don't Believe in Goodbye for Sawyer Brown (1995) and Imagine That for Diamond Rio (1998). Also attended LeAnn Rimes ( When Am I Gonna Get Over You ) and Wynonna Judd ( Sometimes I Feel Like Elvis ) on his songs. In the late 1990s, White's record sales declined. He had his last top 10 hit in 1997 with Love Is the Right Place . A few smaller hits followed before it finally disappeared from the charts in 2000.

A studio album by White was released for the first time in ten years in 2009: Dustbowl Dreams . An EP called Shine followed in 2014 . White continues to perform regularly.

Private

White has been married to actress Erika Page White since 2000. The two have two sons. White's father died in an accident in 2016.
