The Buchenhofener Siepen is an approximately 1000 meter long stream in the Wuppertal district and urban district Vohwinkel and is a right tributary of the Wupper .

topography

The Buchenhofen Siepen, partially blocked

The stream rises on a slope around 246 meters above sea level in the Klosterbusch forest area , which is part of the Burgholz state forest , near a hiking trail. The spring itself is covered with masonry , the water flows from a copper pipe into a small basin and can refresh hikers if necessary.

After the contained spring, the brook crosses the hiking trail unmatched and flows down a steep, wooded slope. Around 133 meters after the source, the stream continues piped and flows into the Wupper 1000 meters after the source.

One can assume that the stream flowed into the river at a different point in the past, as the course of the Wupper was massively changed here. The Wupper used to flow in a large curve at the foot of the slope, now the river takes a shorter course. At the foot of the slope there are now sludge storage areas from the Buchenhofen sewage works .
