The Buckinghamspitze is a 1,190 m high mountain in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Bowers Mountains , it towers near the Oates Coast at the southern end of Platypus Ridge on the west side of Lillie Glacier .
Scientists of the German expedition GANOVEX I (1979–1980) made his name. Namesake is the New Zealander Alister Buckingham, who worked as a helicopter pilot on this trip .
