Bud LaLonde

Bernard Joseph "Bud" LaLonde (born June 3, 1933 in Detroit , Michigan , † December 1, 2017 in Granville , Ohio ) was an American economist. His contributions contributed to the development of supply chain management as an independent economic discipline.

Life

Bernard Joseph LaLonde was the son of John Bernard and Fannie LaLonde, née Napier. He completed a bachelor's degree at the University of Notre Dame by 1955 and then an MBA at the University of Detroit until 1957 . In 1961 he was awarded a Ph.D. PhD.

After working as a professor at the University of Colorado and Michigan State University , he was a professor in the Department of Marketing and Logistics at Ohio State University from 1969 .

LaLonde was the founder of the Journal of Business Logistics . In addition to books, he wrote over 120 articles and received several awards and honors; Among other things, he received the CSCMP Distinguished Service Award in 1978 .

His marriage to Barbara Elaine “Barb” LaLonde, née Eggenberger (1935–2016) on September 8, 1958 resulted in two sons and a daughter.
