Buff Bay is a country city in northeast Jamaica . It is located in the county ( Parish ) Portland Parish in County Surrey , the most fertile region of the island in the river valley of the Spanish River. Mainly coffee and bananas are grown. It borders the ocean to the north and the Buff Bay River to the west. In the south are the Blue Mountains .

In 2010 Buff Bay had 2,719 residents.

Attractions

There are many buildings from the early 19th century in the city. On the seaside of town stands the Anglican Church called St. George's Parish Church . It dates from the time when Buff Bay was the capital of the parish of the same name. This was divided into the current parishes of St. Mary and Portland.

A few kilometers from the city center is Crystal Springs , a privately operated botanical garden . This is open to the public and a popular destination in Jamaica.
